Maybe they aren't, maybe a given poster has a lot of games (I have 110 or so SNES + SFC carts, we have collectors here), but a lot of posts here seem to suggest "I downloaded a complete pack of SNES roms what should I play?" and that's not really a discussion we're interested in having. Posts that are basically "Hey, I got my setup running, look at my hundreds of games" or "Wow, this $500 cart game I've never heard of before is really good" or even "I'm going to get a complete set of fan translated RPGs" are basically thinly veiled piracy bragging in a lot of cases. I would ask that the thread be primarily focused on the technical aspects of hacking the console and making it work. It's also about preventing derails from people who are extremely angry about the existence of emulation and determined to make sure no one can talk about it. This is not a moral judgment about people being bad people, it's even-handed enforcement of the rules, it's about protecting the site from liability, and frankly it's about trying to surface useful technical discussion. That being said, if there is confusion, we did not intend to provide a space for barely-concealed piracy, even of older games, even of not commercially available games. Our priority will always be to crack down on overt piracy: people posting links or asking for links to pirated material. ![]() First, all of us have better things to do with our lives than micromanaging this stuff by doing the Spanish Inquisition about where people are getting their SNES roms or whether they're doing it for games they own or whatever. A few of us moderators were discussing the attempted derail earlier in the thread around the subject of piracy, and I thought it might be fruitful to weigh in on this.
